Chapter 38: Inspiring a Growth Mindset
BOOM!🎇
This week we return to walking through Part I of Jennifer Mead's work, Firework Humans.
If you're anything like me, the end of the year is approaching and you are thrilled that you will accomplish your goals (or at least get dangerously close). Don't forget to celebrate that forward progress and momentum!! Forward progress is still progress, no matter how slow!
And, in addition to celebrating some wins, you are also plotting for next year's global domination or what your next great adventure will look like.
If this is you, and you're finding yourself a little stuck or maybe like something a little more in control of your destiny is your jam, then you should review Part I of Firework Humans and know that you, too, are fundamentally entrepreneurial.Â
Further, you should ask yourself what you gravitate towards, as both a human and a leader. Are you a fixed mindset person or a growth mindset person?
Do you bounce between the two? If so, what triggers that?
Can you inspire and encourage growth amongst your teams?
A growing culture is a thriving culture that can creatively solve problems, work through issues and withstand storms. Teammates feel safe to try new things and to fail. They also know that they are responsible for the items in their buckets and are held accountable for accomplishing them.
If your organization or team is not firmly in a growth mindset, what can you do in FY 2023 to shift that?
Perhaps its embracing the 9 Entrepreneurial Instincts:
Knowledge Seeking
Audacious Dreaming
Try Again Mentality
Prove-It to Me
I'll Fix It
Evolving
Whatever It Takes (aka perseverance and grit)
Go-Out-On-A-Ledge
Connections
Which of these can you nurture in your teams (and within you)?
How could you use this mindset to scale or profit your business or division?
Want to learn more, tackle Part II: The 9 Entrepreneurial Instincts this week and we'll dive into those and consider how you can use them to set your goals!
